Sun TV Power: Vaiko joins AIADMK

MDMK general secretary Vaiko has said that his decision to quit the DMK front to join the rival AIADMK camp was primarily influenced by the television network Sun TV. Dwelling at length on the manner in which the Sun TV channel, owned by Union minister Dayanidhi Maran's family, had benefited by its association with the government at the Center.

Vaiko said that, "If they (DMK) come to power, that will be dangerous for Tamil Nadu. It will be the greatest peril to the state's economic progress. They will spread their tentacles like the octopus to eliminate many in the media and enter other businesses as well. Already, they are among the richest in Asia.
