Congress factions clash in Chennai

Several people were injured as hundreds of supporters of a suspended Congress legislator staged a violent protest yesterday at the party headquarters here over seat allocation ahead of the Tamil Nadu assembly elections.

The party headquarters at Sathyamurthy Bhavan resembled a battle ground, with clothes, slippers and banners strewn all over, tables and chairs broken, and many injured when supporters of A Chellakumar, who was suspended from the party on Friday over ‘dissidence’, clashed with rival party men.(more...)
