DMK upset over EC decision on Jaya sops

The Election Commission's decision that there is no bar on the Jayalalithaa government in implementing ongoing welfare schemes has irked the DMK. Party chief M Karunanidhi dashed off a letter on Thursday to Chief Election Commissioner B B Tandon, expressing surprise that the EC was not preventing the state government from going ahead with its welfare programmes.(more...)
